In the realm of inspirational figures, DJ Khaled stands out as someone whose life and success hold valuable lessons, some of which unexpectedly revolve around the concept of forgiveness. His infectious energy, quirky dance moves, and empowering catchphrases make him more than just a musical artist; he’s a source of motivation and wisdom for many.
We love how in his music when he is about to say something profound he uses the language “major key – alert”.

Forgiveness is a ‘major Key alert” for your marriage. However, it isn’t a simple switch that can be flipped at will. It’s often a tumultuous journey, especially in the face of hurt and betrayal. The notion of forgiving someone who has caused immense pain might seem inconceivable, an unreachable horizon in the storm of emotions. But here’s where the unexpected lesson lies: forgiveness isn’t solely a human endeavor—it’s a spiritual one that the Holy Spirit promises to help with.

Consider the analogy that “your feelings often follow your feet.” It suggests that sometimes, the path to forgiveness begins with the steps we take, the decisions we make to trust in a higher power to guide us through the maze of emotions. It’s not about masking genuine feelings but rather pre-deciding how we choose to treat those who’ve wronged us, much like the vows taken in marriage, promising to stand by each other in both good times and bad.

Jesus shows us the example of forgiveness throughout his life and even in his final breaths on the cross.

He says “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”. It leads us to ask “but how? They seem to know exactly what they are doing?” What He is showing us is that people are not only what they do, not only their behaviors. In our humanity we can commit devastating hurts to those we love. In this gap between a spiritual being and a human one we need forgiveness.

The journey toward forgiveness isn’t about denying hurt or suppressing emotions; it’s about acknowledging pain while choosing a path of healing and restoration. It’s a daunting voyage to take on your own but as you learn from Christ example and lean into the Holy spirits help you can find peace. This peace has the power to heal, not only your own soul but your relationships!
