“Can you handle me?” These words carry weight, opening the door to vulnerability and trust. Confession therapy is about creating a safe space where these words hold significance. It’s an invitation to intimacy—a willingness to expose our inner struggles and seek healing through connection.

Setting Aside Time for Deeper Connection

Confession therapy isn’t rushed; it’s deliberate. It calls for designated moments where both parties can delve into deeper, sometimes uncomfortable conversations. It’s a commitment to listen and be present without judgment, fostering an environment where honesty thrives.

The Power of Communication and Listening

This therapeutic approach grants equal importance to speaking and listening. Each person gets the chance to express themselves freely, and in turn, receives the honor of being truly heard. The act of sharing brings relief, while the act of listening provides solace.

The Biblical Perspective: James 5:16

The verse from James 5:16 encapsulates the essence of confession therapy. By confessing our struggles to one another, we not only seek healing but also allow for the transformative power of prayer and support.

Embracing Healing Through Confession

Confession therapy isn’t about exposing flaws; it’s about embracing humanity. It’s an acknowledgment that we’re all a work in progress, and through open communication and active listening, we foster an environment where healing and growth flourish.
God is with you and for you! He does not want you to cover in shame or build walls of self-protection in your marriage. Confession therapy can help you grow to a newer and deeper place!

  • Don’t go into the weekend defensive. 🤍

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for your marriage is recognize, “I’m in a funk, and I don’t want to take it out on you.” Awareness is the first step.

It is definitely a tactic of the enemy to keep you stuck in defensiveness so that you are not able to work through problems. When we committed to breaking this cycle it brought amazing benefits!
  • If you found this page, welcome. We’re so glad you’re here.

Whether your marriage is thriving or barely surviving, our prayer is that these short reels and resources would remind you that there is hope.

We don’t speak from a place of having it all together. We speak from a place of experiencing the strength and faithfulness of the Lord. We have known failure. We have walked through deep pain in our marriage. But by God’s grace, we have also experienced the healing, restoration, and abundance that Jesus paid for on the cross.

If He can restore us, He can meet you too.

We’re honored you’re here. If there’s any way we can serve or encourage you, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t have to walk this journey alone. Welcome. We’re believing with you that your best days are still ahead.
  • There is usually one whose idea of “fun” is getting stuff done. 🫠 Play can seem silly, or even unproductive, but research tells a different story.
Novel, playful experiences activate the brain’s reward system, create stronger emotional memories, and help couples feel more connected by breaking out of everyday routines.
Literally getting a doctorate to justify being childlike. 😉
So let’s make this a no boring date nights (or days) summer!
Drop your most creative idea in the comments so we can help those work as play people out!
  • Happy wedding T + T!!! I have been thinking about what I would write to you in a wedding card way to long 😂 so here it is from me to you:

Dearest Taylor and Travis,

Thank you. I believe your love story, like all great ones, is changing the world.

I want you to know as someone who has been married 24 years, has a court in the back yard and a whole block of children looking like him.
Your wish list is full of wisdom and truly is the good stuff of life!

However, it will cost you as much as life of a showgirl. Make no mistake.
The alter is where you come to die, dedicate and find a new life of your dreams. Make this a daily practice.

Cheering you on forever, Josh + Katie
