It is easier to run your home like coworkers than lovers. We have been there.

Seven kids.
Ministry demands.
Travel.
Leadership.
Bills.

Our conversations sounded like:

“Who’s picking up Ari?”
“Did you pay that bill?”
“What time is basketball?”

At the end of the day we’d collapse into bed exhausted.

We loved each other deeply.

But we stopped pursuing each other intentionally.

And drift always feels accidental.

Why roommate marriages happen:

  • busyness
  • parenting overload
  • phones
  • stress
  • no margin

John Gottman says friendship is the foundation of lasting marriages.

The little foxes:

Song of Solomon 2:15 reminds us it’s often small neglect that steals intimacy.

7-Day Pursuit Challenge:

  • Send one thoughtful text
  • Hold a 20-second kiss
  • Eat dinner without phones
  • Ask one meaningful question
  • Plan one surprise
  • Pray together
  • Laugh together

Close:

Great marriages don’t drift toward intimacy.

They choose pursuit.

  • The other night we tried to have a hard conversation on date night while sitting / TRAPPED / in a car. 😂
At one point we looked at each other and said “we have got to get out of this car and just walk around.”
Hard conversations done with respect and in love are not the problem, that’s growth!
Next time you need to have a hard conversation try to take a walk and see if it helps you slow down, breathe and hear one another better.
  • Feeling disconnected? So normal! However don’t let one day turn into two. Here are some easy tips that have helped us get back to that loving feeling.
  • Don’t go into the weekend defensive. 🤍

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for your marriage is recognize, “I’m in a funk, and I don’t want to take it out on you.” Awareness is the first step.

It is definitely a tactic of the enemy to keep you stuck in defensiveness so that you are not able to work through problems. When we committed to breaking this cycle it brought amazing benefits!
  • If you found this page, welcome. We’re so glad you’re here.

Whether your marriage is thriving or barely surviving, our prayer is that these short reels and resources would remind you that there is hope.

We don’t speak from a place of having it all together. We speak from a place of experiencing the strength and faithfulness of the Lord. We have known failure. We have walked through deep pain in our marriage. But by God’s grace, we have also experienced the healing, restoration, and abundance that Jesus paid for on the cross.

If He can restore us, He can meet you too.

We’re honored you’re here. If there’s any way we can serve or encourage you, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t have to walk this journey alone. Welcome. We’re believing with you that your best days are still ahead.
