Crushing hard on my girl @katiewalters this week while she is serving @hopeheals.camp. The eye candy is evident. I have many screen savers on rotate just like this one. But her real beauty is on the inside. She sets the standard of love, joy and generosity in our family and is what makes me excited to come home to on the daily. One day all 7 kids will be gone and I’ll still be hustling home. Life isn’t nearly as full or fun when she’s gone. There is no one like you love. #TeamWalters @hopeheals

Serve Day 2023!

Loved serving with these fellas today! Every since dad passed mom has been very patient with me addressing her list. She’ll periodically mention things, but I haven’t done the best job keeping tabs. When I told her the boys & I were going to serve her today, this was her list:

- 2 broken toilets she’d lift the back off to flush manually.
- 3 broken light switches
- Garbage Disposal was locked up so she’d been doing dishes by hand and not using one side of the sink.
- Dryer vent was disconnected and venting into the room making it very hot and dusty.
- Several small holes in the wall (from my boys) due to doors without stops.
- Towel rod fell off the wall.

All of which would have driven me crazy, but she’d casually mention as they surfaced. @jagsurf reached out asking what I was up to and offered to jump in. We knocked out the whole list and brought the pressure washer for the boys to clean her driveway & sidewalk. I was convicted and blessed. Driving home today committed to being more attentive and timely. If there is a widow in your life, especially in your family, make it your priority to bump them up on your list. It’s very likely they won’t ask. God is committed to meeting all of their needs but he’s asked us to own them! Love you mom. #TeamWalters #SeacoastChurch #ServeDay #ServeDay23 @seacoastchurch

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her. But if she has children or grandchildren, their first responsibility is to show godliness at home and repay their parents by taking care of them. This is something that pleases God. 1 Tim 5:3-4
